Acne Medicine Exposed
Many acne sufferers get frustrated when they do not see the results they want from their acne medicine. Sadly, they often fail to see the desired results they are looking for because they did not have the right information from the very start. To help with this situation, we explore some tips on the things you should take into account when using your acne medicine or beginning an acne treatment:
1. Match the right acne medicine to the level of severity of your acne.
Most people suffer from mild to moderate acne and can use most over the counter medications or home remedies to help with these acne treatments. However, if you have more severe acne you should schedule an appointment with a dermatologist to see if prescription acne medicine would be more helpful. Currently, you can find prescription drugs including Tetracycline, Erythromycin and Accutane to help with more severe forms of acne. However, the main goal here is to make sure you are using the products that can help your specific acne level.
2. Recognize that different products that have the same ingredients may yield different results.
Many people believe that if two acne products have exactly the same ingredients then this means they are the same and will yield the same results. However, this is not the case. Products can vary significantly depending on how the products are put together in manufacturing and what requirements they have regarding ingredients. The result of these differences is that you can get better results with one product than another product that has exactly the same ingredients. For this reason, it is a good idea to do some research and determine which products are more likely to yield you the results you are looking for. Also, do not be afraid to switch to another competitor’s product if your own product is not getting you satisfactory results.
3. Determine if other factors are hindering your acne treatment
Acne medicine or acne treatments can show delayed results if certain actions are taken. For example, new cosmetics like moisturizers and makeup can clog pores if they are comedogenic. In addition, picking at your acne can delay the improved results of acne. Finally, even stress can slow down the results of acne. Therefore, if you are going through a divorce or some other stressful situation, you should give your acne treatment additional time before deciding to give up on it.
4. Use a fully comprehensive treatment for your acne.
Since acne is not a temporary problem and the appearance of acne on the skin is really the result of several weeks in the making, it is a good idea to have a fully comprehensive acne treatment. This should include a cleanser, a moisturizer, an acne mask, and a lotion. The idea here is to acne from all different angles and to help keep the skin in the best shape possible. By using a fully comprehensive treatment, you will get far better results and be less likely to suffer from any of the minor side effects of using acne medicine or acne treatment products.
By keeping these tips in mind, your selection and use of your next acne medicine and treatment should yield better results. If you have not done your research on different acne medicines, we strongly suggest you do your homework. Some additional research on the front end can save your time, money, and energy down the road.

This post is a good one because it’s important to create a checklist of things before you decide on an acne treatment. One of the most important steps to take is to identify the factors of acne and whether or not your treatment options address that factor.
One factor that many people ignore or overlook is that of gender. People are becoming increasingly aware that gender plays a large role in acne and acne treatment. Many information sites and blogs are addressing it as well. A good one that provided me with some preliminary info is http://campusacnetruth.org/html/acne_gender.html.
Another factor that is often over-looked is the types of ingredients that you want or don’t want to have in an acne treatment. For instance, I make a particular point to avoid products that contain parabens due to their potential dangers. Paraben-containing products have been banned from the shelves of European markets due to possible links to certain types of cancer.
A Cornell University study went so far as to refer to Parabens as “environmental estrogens” due to their ability to create estrogen much like steroids and testosterone. Parabens have even been found intact in breast cancer tumors and cause breast tissue cells to divide, increasing the likelihood of a mutation occurring.
It’s important to make sure you have a good understanding of acne and its factors before committing to a treatment.
